Gravitas
Gravitas
Gravitas is a physics-based puzzle game where you control a launcher to fire projectiles across space. The objective is to hit planets by curving your projectiles using the gravitational fields of nearby stars.
This game is created for the 2024 GMTK game jam with the theme of Build to Scale made within 96 hours.
The core mechanics of this game revolves around scaling the world around you by making planets larger or smaller.
The game is completely playable by mouse only, but the spacebar is added as an alternative shooting method.
Gameplay
Launcher Mechanics: Aim your launcher
Gravity Manipulation: Each planet exerts a gravitational pull on your projectile, altering its path. You can increase or decrease a planet's gravitational force using a limited amount of fuel which you can also take from other planets!
Puzzle Levels: Navigate through increasingly complex levels, each presenting unique planetary arrangements and obstacles.
Strategy & Timing: Some levels may require you to carefully time your shot or adjust planetary properties mid-flight to guide your projectile around obstacles and through narrow gravitational corridors.
Objective
Master the art of gravitational manipulation to guide your projectiles to their targets, completing each level with the fewest shots possible. Use your wits and understanding of physics to overcome increasingly complex challenges and become the ultimate space marksman.
